BYU Pathway Connect: Dear PC 102 Student
It is a great privilege for me to share a few nuggets with you of the that blessing that BYU Pathway is. PC 102 is a very great and awesome course with a slightly harder course load than PC 101. I would like to believe that all the things that you learnt in PC 101 were important life skills which were meant to prepare you for the Professional Skills you will get to learn in the PC 102 course.
As part of the PC 102 course I have realised that to succeed I had to practice time management skills , staying focused , avoiding destruction's and procrastination ( Handing in assignments in the last minute) . I personally had struggles staying focused because of destruction's I had with social media and other unnecessary pop-ups. The way I overcame this challenge was by doing my personal scripture study and prayer , just before I did my studies. Creating this spiritual environment helped me a lot to study and understand concepts which otherwise would have been difficult to understand. One other skill which helped me succeed is helping other people to learn math and some other course content assignments. I discovered that by being a resourceful person in my group I actually learnt more than by just learning and keeping it to my self. It makes great sense because it resonates very well with the BYU Idaho learning model which also highlights the importance of learning and also teaching one another.
PC 102 has been of great influence to me this past semester. I learnt many skills amongst which is how to write a professional looking resume and linked in profile, elevator pitches and also the process of developing a business plan. I was excited being part of a team and also as part of our team project this semester we developed a business plan for a lemonade business. In the future I look forward to a carrier as a software developer and starting a business in that field. I am rest assured that these skills I have learnt will help me to be successful. I know that you will also be successful as you apply these few and simple nuggets. Remember “ When you are doing it they will ask you why you are doing it. When you are done they will ask you how you did it”.
Your Sincerely
Tatenda Felix Mukaro
