An investigator From Above

I remember sometime back when I was serving in the Uganda Kampala Mission. I had been assigned to train Elder Kampelya ( Zambia), we had also been whitewashed to a new area. Makindye, Kampala had been perceived by the majority of missionaries as one of the most difficult areas to serve in. We entered the area with optimism besides the status call. As we served there, we of course faced our own fair share of challenges and miracles. I won't dwell on the challenges, but one of the miracles we had was that we met and started teaching Isaac. Isaac was what I described as a referral from above, an elect person, he was poor in spirit and willing to learn more about the gospel and to act upon it. We completed all the missionary lessons with him in time and he was baptized on 15 April 2017. Some couple of months later he progressed to receiving the Aaronic Priesthood and then the Melchizedek Priesthood.

To date   Isaac has since been called to serve a mission in his home country. My joy is full just like Alma and his brethren in the Book of Mormon. Truly when we are on the Lord's errand our efforts are not in vain. I do wish Isaac a great and wonderful mission ahead of him. He will be reporting to the online MTC in September 2020.
